I've Got Nothing ...
Except an empty shoe box. Yep, picture repeat, and I don't have much to talk about. Long story, and I'm sure you don't want to hear it. Let's just say that I'm about to throw my computer through the window. Of course, then I'd have to buy a new window and a new computer, so I won't. Anyway, today marks the beginning of summer for me, which means my kiddos are home invading my space and my computer time and my brain. Instead of giving up blogging entirely, I'm forewarning you that my posts will be random in timing and in content, but I will be around visiting my favorite haunts. Good news, though... I'm down to one chapter on my rewrites. I'm doing all kinds of happy dances here! So, here's to RANDOM SUMMER BLOGGING! What are your plans for the summer months?

And the Final Winner is...
I used my old standby method of solitaire, which I explained here to select the winner. Congratulations to the fifth commenter on Friday's post, Karen from A Peek At Karen's World. I'll be in touch. So, as I mentioned Friday, I'll be taking the rest of the week off. I hope you all have a good one, and I'll catch up with you next Monday!

Last Day to Celebrate!
Sorry about the late post today. It's been a crazy morning. At any rate, we've been celebrating my blogiversary here all week, but all good things must come to an end, right? On Monday, we discussed our favorite things about blogging, and on Wednesday, we discussed our least favorite things. Just about every one of you indicated that the time it takes is a big drawback to blogging but that it is worth it. I'd have to agree. Now, for Wednesday's winner. I didn't have time to play solitaire, so I had to choose a different approach for selecting the winner. I decided to go by the combined score of my son's baseball game last night, which happened to be nine. They won 6 - 3. Go Scrappers! So, the ninth commenter is the winner. Congratulations to Piedmont Writer! I'll be in touch. I know I'm not being very original here, but today's prize is also a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble. For your chance to win, leave a comment about how you juggle blogging with writing and just life in general. Personally, I put life first, then writing, and then blogging. Sometimes this means taking breaks from blogging. Many of you know, I've been doing this often lately. Guess what--I'm doing it again next week. My kids get out of school for the summer next Friday, and I want to take advantage of my last few days of peace and quiet. I'll post the winner of today's give away on Monday, but after that, I'll be on blogger break until Monday, May 24th. So, how do you manage blogging and the time it takes?

The Celebration Continues!
We're celebrating a year of blogging around here all week. There's plenty of cake, so please take some. On Monday, we talked about our favorite things about blogging. Although, you all said something different, it all boiled down to one thing--interaction with people. That's what blogging is all about. Interaction. Okay, now I guess I should announce the winner of Monday's give away, but first, I'd like to share with you my very scientific method of choosing the winner. Are you ready for this? I played solitaire on the computer until I won, which finally happened on the fourteenth game. So, logically, the winner is the fourteenth commenter to Monday's post, right? Congratulations, Amy Jo Lavin! You are the winner! I'll be in touch. Now, for today's give away. All you have to do is leave a comment about what your least favorite thing about blogging is. Mine is that it sucks me in and before I know it, I've lost hours of writing time. So, you tell me. What don't you like about blogging? Leave a comment for your chance to win a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card.

It's A Blogiversary Celebration!
Yes, that's right. My blog is officially one year old. Can you believe it? I can't. It seems like yesterday that I started this thing without a clue of what I was doing. Back in the early days there were no shoes, and I pretty much kept to myself. I honestly never thought anyone would care to read what I had to say or that I would care what others had to say. Boy, was I wrong! Reading other blogs has been not only a pleasure, but also a valuable source of information. I feel blessed to have found this community of kind and considerate bloggers, so I've decided to give back (in a small way). To celebrate my blogiversary, I will be having three separate give aways. The first, of course, is today. To enter, just leave a comment by midnight tonight telling me why you love blogging. I will randomly pick a name tomorrow and announce the winner on Wednesday, which will be the day of the second give away. Today's prize is a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Thank you all for the last year of joy, and best of luck with the contest! Oh, and don't forget to grab a piece of that yummy shoe cake.

Spread The Awesome!
I'm still on blogger break, but I wanted to tell you guys about something awesome, in case you haven't heard. Elana Johnson organized this whole book review. There are over sixty bloggers participating. I was supposed to be one of them, but I backed out. I know, I'm a bad blogger. Really, you should check them all out, starting with Christina Lee. Happy Reading! See you next Monday.
