Come On In!

But please leave a comment. Otherwise, I might not be able to return the favor. Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed a few more followers in my sidebar. Most of you have a link connected to your picture, and a good number of you who don't left a comment, so I've been able to come check out your place. Some, however, don't have a link, and haven't left a comment. This leaves me without a way to come visit you. So, my Tuesday's Tip is this: when you follow a new blog, leave a comment. That way the person you follow can reciprocate. Blogger can be touchy, and sometimes, just following won't do the trick. I have a lot of other bloggerly tips, but I'll save them for later. I wouldn't want to overload you with my sometimes useless opinions, now would I? At any rate, I welcome all of my new visitors, and I can't wait to get to know you! Anyone else out there struggling with this issue? Followers are spectacular, but don't you want to be able to follow back?

I know, I wasn't guilty of this when I followed you recently, but I still wanted to comment and say how much I appreciate you checking my blog out, and being my first follower! :)

And I also wanted to say that your blog is great! I have enjoyed reading and will continue to follow you for a long time to come. Keep up the good work!! :)

You are the best at commenting. Thanks for that. Love today's shoe picture.

This has happened to me lately too! I hop over to see who my new follower is, but then I have no way of contacting them or visiting their blog without a comment :( ...I might have to post a note like this on my blog as well.

I bow down to your ability to still keep up and go visit everyone who comments. *bows* I'm such a bad bloggy friend lately. I just can't keep up these days. But yes, that is a problem when people's sites aren't attached to their follow picture.

I bow down too. I've been a blog slacker the past few months. Life has just been so busy. But I set a goal to do better starting this month.

A-men!!!!

I have so many followers who never say a word. I guess they read but don't have anything to say? Are they stalking me? I don't get it. But I tend to go by comments as to whether or not I'm getting through to anyone. I guess as authors we have to get used to writing to an audience who reads without commenting.

I do like to visit the people who are kind enough to follow my blog--especially those who leave me a comment. I'm not always able to comment on other's blogs as much as I want, but I hope they get as much of a warm fuzzy from my comment as I get when I see theirs. There are actually times when I just go through all my followers and check out blogs (and comment) rather than posting a new post. I suppose as the number of followers grows that might become daunting, but I'm not there yet. Anyway, great reminder! (And your opinions are never useless!)

I totally agree. I have a hard time figuring out where everyone is, unless they comment. Plus I love the comments. =)

Oh, I know. I can't stand when that happens and I can't say hi back. Good tip. :)

I had a very difficult time figuring it all out when I started blogging. Sometimes I still do. You can give all the advice you want. Thanks for it, too.

That happens on mine too! New people sign up and don't leave a comment and I can't always find a way to click back to them!

Great advice, I try hard to leave comments when I'm following someone new, it just keeps the connection better.

I've been following your blog for awhile... LOVE the shoe theme and tips are great. Now if only I could clear my mind enough to write more! I either have nothing, or so much that I can't sort through it all :)

Absolutely! We also need to be sure our blog is linked to our profile pages. Sometimes I follow a comment to the profile page but can't find the blog.

I wish I had more time to comment. But sometimes my daughter is behaving extra feisty so I don't always get to do that.

This is great advice. I wish there were more time for blogging but life is hectic :(

Yes! And sometimes I'm not sure who the new follower is, because the picture doesn't show up in my sidebar. I feel really bad that I miss reaching out to some of my followers.

That's a good tip. Sometimes Blogger doesn't feel like helping find people's pages.

it's definitely a good tip :)

I so agree! I always feel bad when I can't get to a new follower and say 'hi' or 'thanks'!

I opened up blogger this morning and saw that I had a follower! I was thrilled. (The follower was you, of course) I'm so new to blogging that I have no idea how it works. I've been reading your blog from the beginning as a way to learn from one of the pros :) I love your blog and your voice. Thank you for reaching out by writing. It's hard to start.
