It's A Blogiversary Celebration!

Yes, that's right. My blog is officially one year old. Can you believe it? I can't. It seems like yesterday that I started this thing without a clue of what I was doing. Back in the early days there were no shoes, and I pretty much kept to myself. I honestly never thought anyone would care to read what I had to say or that I would care what others had to say. Boy, was I wrong! Reading other blogs has been not only a pleasure, but also a valuable source of information. I feel blessed to have found this community of kind and considerate bloggers, so I've decided to give back (in a small way). To celebrate my blogiversary, I will be having three separate give aways. The first, of course, is today. To enter, just leave a comment by midnight tonight telling me why you love blogging. I will randomly pick a name tomorrow and announce the winner on Wednesday, which will be the day of the second give away. Today's prize is a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Thank you all for the last year of joy, and best of luck with the contest! Oh, and don't forget to grab a piece of that yummy shoe cake.

Shoe cake? Mmm. ;)

Happy Blogiversary! One year with all the success you've had is amazing. Keep up the great work!

I love blogging because it's a way to get my smaller thoughts out, without having to squeeze them into a novel somewhere. ;)

Happy 1 year anniversary! I think of you as one of the blogging experts so it's amazing to me you've only been doing it a year.

I love blogging because it's allowed me to meet and get to know people who I never would have known otherwise. I love that I can be friends with people on the other side of the country (and the world) and people from all different walks of life. It's been fun.

Congrats on one year of blogging! That's so awesome. :) My favorite thing about blogging is all the writers I've met and friends I've made. We've got a great little community here. It's so nice to know there are others going through the same writerly struggles. What a fun contest!

Congratulations on one year of blogging. Actually, I just this moment realized this is the month I began blogging one year ago as well. I love blogging because it gives me an opportunity to write about the things I am thinking about and wonder of wonders, there is a loving community of writers and readers who enjoy sharing in this way. Thanks for being part of that community.

Congratulations! I agree that blogging is filled with valuable information. I have learned lots of great advice from writers at all levels of their writing careers. I don't think I'd be where I am today without my writing community. Thanks everyone!

Congrats on one year in the blogosphere!

Look at that shoe, so inviting, so utterly useless too! A bit like blogging, actually. Inviting, useless, but oh so addictive! Keeping it up for a year is good news. Keeping yourself motivated to keep hitting the keys is even better.

Glad to know you!

Happy Anniversary! I love blogging. I feel like I'm back in college where ideas would formulate, discussions erupt, and new friends would be made. It's nice to be able to share our thoughts with like-minded people.

Happy Blogiversary! I've been blogging regularly for four months beginning with a goal of posting twice a month but quickly increased to 3x a week. Most of all I love connecting with other creative minds. I've learned a lot. I also like that blogging makes me creative, having to come up with new subjects and ways to convey information.

Congratulations! One year of blogging is amazing :)

I love blogging for many of the same reasons. I've met some wonderful people (including my three critique partners) and I've learned so much. I've also had lots of fun.

I love blogging because writing can be a lonely pursuit, but other bloggers provide invaluable support and companionship. :)

Cool. Congrats on making it a year. I love blogging because of the writer friends I've made. They're a great crowd.

Congrats on one year! That's awesome! So far, I love blogging because I don't have to send what I write to a critique parnter, if I have a lousy post I can write a better one tomorrow, I can practice without receiving a form rejection, and I've love meeting other writer/bloggers!

Happy 1 year!! Woo Hoo ;o) *squeee* So thrilled for you. You have a wonderful blog!

Let's see... I love blogging for many reasons, the people, the connections, getting to see what's going on in other people's journeys. It's all good ;o) Congrats!

I love blogging because I like connecting with other writers. It used to be about "building an audience" but is more than that now I think.

Diane said...

You've come a long way in a year. That's the fun of the ride, the never knowing what lies ahead in blogging. Congrats and yeah! ;O)

Angela said...

Aw, congrats! Has it been a year already? I always love the shoes you post!

What i love about blogging is the people. I mean, writing is such a solitary pursuit, and it feels so good to connect with others that share our passion and are striving the sam way we are. Those connections are so important for staying sane and hopeful. I get my inspiration from others and it keeps me going. :)

Whoohoo! Happy blogiversary! (That's a hard word to spell.) :D I like blogging simply because it's fun. Is that a lame answer? It's true though. Now... why is it fun? That is a whole other question entirely... I guess I like thinking I'm offering someone out there some kind of entertainment. :)

Congrats Susan :) That is awesome. You've done so much in a year!

You don't need to enter me in the contest, but I love blogging because it's opened a whole new world for me. Without it, I wouldn't know what I didn't know.

Congratulations on your blogiversary! The cake looks really yummy! My fave thing about blogging? Well, I have two: it keeps me creative and I love the community.

Happy Blogiversary to you,
Happy Blogiversary to you,
Happy Bloviversary dear Susan,
Happy Bloviversary to you!

I blog because no one in my house listens to me. :)

No, I actually wrote a guest post about why I blog, so I'm cheating and putting in a section that sums it up:

Blogging lets me “voice” my thoughts. Putting my thoughts out to be read is scary for me, but I’ve become much more comfortable with sharing. In turn, I’ve begun to submit articles I’ve written.

Happy Blogiversary, Susan!!!

I love blogging because it connects me to a fascinating world of human beings who make me laugh, make me cry...and feel...and wish, provide me with brilliant information, cheer me on, give me advice, comment on my thoughts and inner workings and even find me funny and occasionally witty. It's a brilliant world.

Sorry I had to remove my previous comment, but I forgot to lead off with "Happy Blogiversary," Susan!!!

What I love about blogging is all the new people I've "met" (like you!), the helpful advice and encouragement I've received and hopefully given. I would say blogging on a regular basis has also helped me hone my writing skill!

Congrats! And you didn't think you had anything anyone would want to read--Ha!--look at that, one year later and almost 400 followers. Pat yourself on the back, Susan, then have some cake.

And I'm too late for the giveaway, but here's my answer: I love blogging because I've met so many wonderful people who "get" this writer part of me that no one else around me does. Only blogging has brought me those friendships.
