I've Got Nothing ...

My shoe box is completely empty. Go figure. I take a long break from blogging, and the day I come back, I don't have anything to talk about. I could tell you about the leak in my ceiling or the awful haircut I got while I was on break. Or, I could talk about how my kids haven't been in school for a full week since November. But, that would just be me complaining. Instead, I'm going to rely on you guys to tell me some good news. So, please share what's been going on with you. I'd love to hear.

Um, yeah, my kids and I shoveled our driveway last week because I was too scared I'd mess up our snow blower. Turned out it was great fun and hard work. Kids today are so spoiled! And now it's veerrrrryy cold! Hope you are staying warm!

Yeesh I imagine it's because of the snow with your kids? I missed half of the 3rd grade because it was that year in the early 90's where it snowed 6 inches EVERY DAY! But luckily I still learned to read & write cuz my teachers actually took a minute to give us assignments to do the next day. I was bored so I did them. I'm rambling, sorry. I hope your day gets a lil better & I understand writer's block all too well! =)

Getting back into the swing of blogging is hard; I experienced the same thing after my break. Don't worry! It doesn't last long. You'll pick up where you left off in no time.

Hi Susan. Good to see you back. I'm doing a lot of writing, and running in preparation for a Feb. 12th marathon. Wednesday I fly to Indiana for a short visit with my parents.

This is how I feel after I haven't written for awhile. I finally get time to sit down at the computer and nothing comes to me!

What's been going on in my life? Busy with birthdays, happy about the new baby on the way, and excited about my new manuscript.

Not much new or interesting with me. But I saw on FB this morning that Katie Ganshert just signed her first book contract!! :-)

I think we need to hear about this haircut - totally been there ;) I don't know how y'all do snow days for weeks on end. We had it for a week and I wanted to kill somebody! I don't have much going on - thinking about entering the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest, but still not sure...

Well, my brain fired up today and gave me an additional scene to make my book better--so yay! And I'm making cookies. Can't go wrong with cookies. Hope your week is better!

I'm the same way, I either have nothing to talk about or too much to squeeze in, in one week. Hope the excitement level picks up a little bit for you, but only in the best of ways! :O)

I don't think my kids have gone a full week since Nov. either. Isn't it crazy? I was praying for no snow this week so my daughter would get a full week in. We're supposed to get a wintry mix Wed. *shakes head*

Cleaning, organizing, trying to figure out how to make my house work for me. Nothing to do with writing, which is a problem.

Welcome back. I took an unexpected break by actually forgetting to blog on the weekend. I guess I neglected to put it on my things to do list. Did someone get an agent or book sold while you were gone?

Katie Ganshert said...

I always struggle with blog content too. At least you can take solace in the fact that you're not alone!

And you already know this - but my big news is that I signed a two book deal. My first one!

Welcome back!

I'm due for a haircut. The last one I got was terrible so I've been holding out. That was back in July. ;)

I landed two partial requests from a query that someone told me stinks. Now who's laughing? :)

Sorry your shoebox is empty. Although unfortunately, I don't have any good news to share. Except the weather has been lovely. And sunshine in January helps with the empty shoebox sundrome. ;)

Well, I've been incredibly swamped lately, but this week I finally had a break from all my busy-ness. So I was able to set my goals for the year and clean up some of my files that were just a huge messy pile.

Oh, and I had my annual girls weekend away which was SO AWESOME as usual! I highly recommend this tradition to any girls who don't already have one! :o)

Have you been writing?

Okay, so another break coming soon? WOO-HOO. ;)

I've been making hospital trips with Christopher. And tons of birthdays. Exercising and I have started not one but TWO stories.

I hope you and your mom had a wonderful visit.
