I wrote the first version of my now almost finished WIP with a different MC, but my readers told me that my main secondary character was the one they really wanted to hear about. So I scrapped that one and rewrote the whole thing. I love my new MC, (he really is more interesting!) and the story works so much better. Sometimes you've just got to go with it.Vonnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17228707287799345805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8515903861204137058.post-32970924787009069262010-02-27T03:52:53.203-06:002010-02-27T03:52:53.203-06:00I have found one of my secondary characters is in ...I have found one of my secondary characters is in danger of becoming my POV, Kitty. Perhaps a boy who is always taunting a girl, but the girl has a lovely friend that just isn't involved in the plot as much. Also, what about Olicer, Nancy, and Fagin? Nancy was nicer than Fagin, but he was one of the main characters.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15163662759281341381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8515903861204137058.post-75159448937312536382010-02-25T18:26:21.882-06:002010-02-25T18:26:21.882-06:00John Steinbeck, Robrt B. This piece of advice may not help you structure your book, yet it may help you get a better character in the end, since it develops freely, since you allow it to unfold naturally (although this implies rewriting the book once the first draft is finished so as to match your choice in terms of main / secondary characters).Imolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15885006269071565159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8515903861204137058.post-52029678594129657302010-02-25T14:00:11.634-06:002010-02-25T14:00:11.634-06:00I find secondary characters easier.
